Soon after Electric City I started working on Motorcity on the Disney XD channel.
Here are some paintings I did from the first few episodes of that series—“Power Trip” and “Ride The Lightning”!
I believe these layouts are by Khang, Arthur and Roger, but I’ll mention the whole layout team below. Any success these backgrounds have is due largely to their superb decision-making during the layout process, and deft handling of composition, line-art and tone:
Brandon Cuellar, Roger Oda, Khang Le, Kirk Shinmoto, Angela Sung, Connie Wong, Arthur Loftis, Tim Ridley and Tec Manalac.
In fact, absolutely everyone on this show was pretty much amazing. If you haven’t checked it out, give Motorcity a chance! I think the passion, dedication and love for the animated medium really shines through in this series.
